In light of the Ametric Festival's continued success in previous years, OCD Project and Coherent States are pleased to announce the fourth iteration of this acclaimed event. This year marks a noteworthy development, as the festival expands to a three-day program. The captivating San Salvatore Bastion in Chania, renowned for its Venetian architecture, will once again serve as the awe-inspiring backdrop for this exploration of experimental music. The festival promises a singular sonic experience, where the historical setting perfectly complements the innovative live performances.

The fourth edition of Ametric Festival explodes into a three-day celebration of experimental music, featuring a stellar lineup of international and local artists. One of today’s foremost ambient composers, American multi-instrumentalist Rafael Anton Irisarri, will perform at Ametric Festival 2024. Irisarri's performances are known for being deep celestial journeys, creating rare immersive environments and abstract soundscapes that dissolve the boundaries of the space, creating a unified experience that blur the lines between audience and venue. Mark Fell, the UK computer-based composition mastermind known for his glitch-infused algorithmic cut-up pieces, will bring his own brand of innovative electronic delirium, guaranteed to captivate the broken dancefloor. Coming from Australia but residing in Nantes, one of the most important experimental musicians of our time, Will Guthrie, will be performing for the first time in Greece presenting his groundbreaking and diverse mix of electro-acoustic music, gamelan and percussion. Red Brut is the artistic moniker of the uncompromising tape artist Marijn Verbiesen from Netherlands, who will unleash her weird cassette collages in her Greek debut at Ametric. Sofia Zafeiriou will dive into deep sources of sound to present her intense noise improvisations. Anna-Maria Rammou will create haunting soundscapes that ramble between electro-acoustic music and noise.

At the same time, the festival is for the first time a three-day event, so that one extra day can be dedicated exclusively to highlighting the work of experimental musicians and sound artists who come from Crete and live in the Chania area. At this setting, the internationally recognized singer and composer Sofia Sarri will present an exclusive solo vocal performance especially imagined for this occasion, Dergar (Christos Garmpidakis) will present new material based on his ambient explorations, while the special musical duo Media Luna (Dimitris Barnias & Fotini Kokkali) will improvise with violin, electronics and field recordings.
